The Isekai VTubers Association

So you want to be part of something bigger? Something with a cause? Maybe get to know other VTubers and gain support and network among your peers? The Isekai VTubers Association was build on these foundational ideas, to give VTubers a place to call home and a place where they can befriend their fellow VTubers and nurture a growing network of support while growing their channels.

The IVA promotes a collaborative atmosphere where we propose ideas for collaborations, streams, and how to better improve our own channels while also lifting up our fellow VTubers to achieve their dreams and hopefully find the success they strive for by their own hands.

The IVA will be hosting live events, promotions, meet and greets, streams, and collaborative sessions with a full array of VTubers, Support staff, and friends where community is the focus, and the journey is the fun in getting there.

All VTubers are welcome to join the IVA. We only ask that you maintain basic respect for each other and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. If you are a Pre-Debut Vtuber, PNGTuber, 2D or 3D Vtuber, Streamer, or Support Staff, the IVA is the place for you. Come join us as we make our dreams come true, one world at a time.

VTuber Support:

So you want to be a VTuber...

VTubing can be a very competitive yet rewarding and fun community to join. With the VTuber Boom that has been sweeping the globe for the past several years, more and more VTubers are debuting by the day! But how do they all get started? Keep reading to find out!

Basic Considerations of becoming a VTuber:

  • Hardware and Software

  • Preferred Streaming Platform

  • 2D, 3D, or PNG

  • Networking and Marketing

  • Staple Games

  • Other Content

  • Lore

  • Goals and Achievements

Hardware and Software:

Most VTubers have a basic set up for their PC to stream from (although some use their phones as well). But for the most part we will focus on the PC option as it is the most versatile and powerful part of you becoming a VTuber. Generally speaking the better the components of your PC, the better your streams will be BUT this does come with a couple things to consider such as your internet package/speeds, PC Specs, and the total processing load for the games you want to play PLUS rendering your VTuber model and webcam input. Generally we would recommend the following PC Specs:

AMD Systems:

  • CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 3700X (or higher)

  • GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (RTX 2080Ti or 3000 series would be even better)

  • RAM: 16GB

  • Storage: Generally speaking, a lot is great, you can scrape by with 256GB. Solid State Drives (SSD)s are better than Hard Disk Drives (HDD) as SSDs are faster and less prone to failure than HDDs.

Intel Systems:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 -7800X (7th Generation Intel processors or above; i5, i7, or i9 works well)

Other Peripherals:

  • Webcam (We recommend the Logitech - C920S HD webcam): HD Webcams with 1080p Resolution with a Low Light ability offer great movement tracking for a basic streamer. If you are choosing to become a PNGTuber instead, you can effectively disregard this, but it is worth considering as it does come with a built in microphone as well and should you choose to become a Live 2D or 3D Vtuber, this will be a solid investment.

  • Microphone and Pre-Amp: A good microphone makes all the difference between being audible and chat being totally unable to understand you. Having solid mic quality will not only boost the production value of your streams, it will make you more pleasant to listen to and make interacting with chat that much better! Some Mics require XLR Pre-amps which both power the mic as well as allow you to adjust the levels. Studio grade Condenser Microphones are great picks but not exactly the most budget for starting VTubers. USB Microphones such as the Blue Microphone - Yeti or Snowball may be great starter Mics which don't require Pre-Amps and offer decent quality. If you have a gaming headset this could also work. We may be posting another section at a later date with some recommended microphones.

  • Motion Tracking Sensors (Optional): Leap Motion Trackers are great tools which allow you to track your hand movements. This is more so particular to 3D VTubers vs 2D as there is limited tracking availability in 2D models. With 3D models, Leap Motion trackers or VR Trackers work to connect or observe the movements of your limbs in real time and translate them to your model allowing you to express more with your hands. Currently the leap motion is the most popular method for this and available at https://www.ultraleap.com.

  • Iphone X or better: The iPhone X and more recent versions offer a special camera within them that works in tandem with the PC Software: iFacialMocap which tracks accurate facial expressions and movement. Optional but a solid option that works well with VTubing Software like Luppet, VSeeFace, and others for 3D VTubing.

Preferred Streaming Platform:

Overall both platforms offer different perks and things to consider based on the market you are trying to reach as well as the goals and intent of your channel. This section we will try to breakdown some of the considerations, pros, and cons based on factual policy and offerings rather than experience.

YouTube

Pros:

  • YouTube is built for various types of content including Clips, Subs-only Chats, Polls, Shorts, and Regular Videos in addition to Streams.

  • Offers a Membership Platform

  • Ability to monetize, make ad revenue, and take donations.

  • Copyright System allows for content to stay up, can be edited, and DMCA claims are unlikely.

  • Non-Exclusivity and ability to Stream to other platforms even as a YouTube Partner or monetized channel.

Cons:

  • Limited Stream Features compared to that of Twitch BUT they are slowly expanding to compete.

  • High requirement for Monetization and YouTube Partnership.

Twitch

Pros:

  • Allows users to Upload regular videos, stories, shorts, and VODs in addition to streaming.

  • Offers a Membership Platform

  • Lower requirements for Monetization.

  • High interactive platform for gamers with a large community base to tap into.

Cons:

  • Community Guidelines are not clearly enforced or highlighted as many streamers are banned under questionable pretense.

  • Copyrighted Music is completely prohibited and content may be subject to DMCA Claims.

  • Prohibited words and actions result in heavy impact to your channel's viewability.

  • Exclusivity as an affiliate limits your ability to stream ONLY to twitch and VODs/Clips must be exclusive to Twitch for 24 hours after the stream. Dual Streaming is not allowed.

2D, 3D, or PNGTubing:

PNGTubers use still PNGs that light up and bounce as they speak using the Discord Stream Kit and Discord Reactive Images in OBS. (HERE is a great video tutorial on how that is done [courtesy of VTuber Senpai]). This is often a great option especially if your Laptop or PC does NOT have the specs needed to render a full live 2D or 3D model.

2D or Live 2D models are a great and very popular option with many benefits ranging from props, to clothing and hair changes on the fly while also tracking face and some body movement. The most popular software for this is Live 2D.

3D models offer a great benefit to those who can afford it, it is one of the more expensive options but also the most versatile in terms of possibility, functions, and interaction. Adding in the 3D space, VTubers can now track facial movements as well as a full range of body movement in real time. They are able to interact with the virtual spaces such as VRChat as well as stream regularly with custom visual effects that require more of a 3D Space. Luppet and VSeeFace are some solid options which offer great support and are currently being developed. Some other notable projects include WebCamMotionCapture and Taal Studio.
